 Bay News 9: October 19, 2008

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast are proud supporters and partners with The Tampa Bay Rays.  What an exciting time for the Rays this is their first-ever time in the World Series and we know they will win!

St. Petersburg is on the map and all eyes are upon us.  As an added bonus for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast we have youth that will be participating in Game 2 and 7 of the World Series in assistance to the first pitch of each game.  The club members are from our Tarpon Springs and Wood Valley Clubs.  Please see the below article just released.  GO RAYS!.

The Tampa Bay Rays are in their first-ever World Series.

The Rays defeated the Boston Red Sox by a score of 3-1 Sunday to win the American League Championship Series 4 games to 3.

The Rays had jumped out to a 3-1 series lead over the Red Sox, only to see the Sox come back and tie it at three games. But Sunday was the Rays' night, and after falling behind early the Rays battled back to defeat Boston and continue their history-making season.

The Rays will face the Philadelphia Phillies starting Wednesday at 8 p.m. with the first two games being played in St. Petersburg..
